Her expertise covers: Trauma informed practice; Solution focused provision and support for children with SEND; Provision Mapping; Differentiation; SEMH; ADHD; ASC; CAL; MLD; SpLD.
Catherine has developed her understanding of Developmental Trauma and is passionate about the impact of being trauma informed. She has worked alongside Social Workers, School, and CAMHS professionals to champion and meet the complex needs of Children in Care.
Through her own experience and whilst researching caregiver's voice as part of a book on Co-producing Smart Targets for Children with SEND (see link below), Catherine has learned about the challenges caregivers can find when trying to communicate concerns or understand the processes involved in the school SEND system. She is committed to supporting them to advocate for their children, supporting with completing paperwork such as EHCP applications; annual reviews; and composing letters/ emails to constructively and effectively communicate caregiver voice.
Amanda has over 12 years experience working in a large outstanding school in North London. Alongside class teaching, she specialises in planning for and teaching children with complex barriers to learning, making learning fun and meaningful. She understands the demands of teaching in a mainstream classroom alongside the challenges of effectively meeting individual needs. "I've spent so many hours looking for the right resources and having to create my own - it makes sense to share with other professionals so they can spend more time actually teaching rather than struggling to find what they need."
The Resources section is currently being updated, but in the meantime any enquiries can be submitted through the contact page.
"Amanda Adams is the most dedicated and hardworking educator I know. Her commitment to providing bespoke resources for children with a range of needs is outstanding. She takes the time to research, study and become expert in the needs of children with all kinds of barriers to learning, she stops at nothing until the teaching and learning are perfect. Amanda is also a great innovator, she is not afraid to think outside the box, ensuring that her resources are visual and stimulating. She is an expert planner and organiser, she has planned exceptional schemes of work for SEN children in a range of subjects, always making the starting point of the children her focus. Lastly, Amanda is practical, adaptable and hugely experienced. She really cares and when you meet the children she teaches it shines through." Luisa Nocerino Head of Learning
